Always in your corner

Words can not describe how impactful UNDRcard was in my life. The community was next level and I do not say this lightly. As someone who was not fond of group fitness, they gave me a new perspective with open arms, the goal that you can achieve anything (if you put your mind to it), and love.

Coming from a background as a competitive dancer and being part of communities where girls were straight-up bitches. I had my doubts about getting older and partaking in group fitness classes. The UNDERcard community gave me the following;

  1. A space to feel and be 100% myself.

  2. A space to release, let go and get that sweet dopamine rush.

  3. Punching the fuck out of a bag.

  4. A space to do some homework before that due date passed.

  5. Being pushed to the LIMITS (you don’t know unless you know).

  6. Lots of laughs, sweat and good fucking times.

Through the community of kick ass all-stars I was able to form solid friendships. You might be thinking… “and… how is that different from any other space?”. Well my dear reader, as a girl growing up I was homeschooled since grade 6 and was a competitive dancer. Need I say more?

The aspect of “solid friendships” was developed a tad bit later in life (naturally in my early 20’s yet allow me to go on…). When UNDRcard heard that an instructor was battling cancer, we all signed up for a class to show our support, our boxing anniversaries were celebrated, birthdays, support each other during the pandemic (the zoom classes saved my life), and even death. UNDRcard was more than just a boxing (now or er… sending off as a fitness studio) studio, it was a community of people who became family.

We showed up, pushed each other (in the best way possible), laughed hard, loved harder and my god the list goes on. When you are stuck in a small box with club music and you sweat the FUCK out of it class after class… It leaves a mark on you.

I will never forget my stay with UNDRcard, my first day, my last day and all the ones in between. Even though it is sad to hear of the closing, I have more gratitude for the people who made it impactful. I would not be the woman I am today without you. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of your lives, your workouts, your emotions, hell... Everything!

To Jared, David, Shaima, Kaysi, Joanna, Daniel, Jen, Les, Oscar, Erin, Jordan, Sebastian and our OG Nico (RIP <3). (I know there are new members yet unfortunately, I did not have the pleasure of taking your classes yet I know you all are kick-ass people too!) From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU <3. I can’t wait to support you and see where you all go from here.

Always in your corner.

With Love,

Ashley
